A beautifully melancholic meditation on time, purpose, and the quiet persistence of creative work. The Voyager image is haunting, a reminder of how fleeting our presence is, and yet how meaningful our attempts to leave a mark can be. Harrowings may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s precisely that raw honesty and philosophical depth that makes it resonate. Keep amplifying those signals through the noise, Hal. The world needs voices that dare to reflect, even when the lights flicker.
I surely do appreciate these thorough-going comments and then that they get pressed out there as notes. If anyone is led to my door as a result, I surely owe a debt of gratitude….
I enjoy reading what you write and have benefited. I try to support all of the people I subscribe to. Each person offers a unique perspective and helps me view the world and life in different ways. I appreciate what you are doing. I am unable to read everything but do what I can. Keep creating!
You have been an outstanding supporter, Sunshine and it is very much appreciated! Whenever I get a substantive reply, it makes me feel seen and that is a rare thing these days. I do a lot of watching my fellow humans and Gurdjieff was spot on - we are largely a population of sleep-walkers, automatically doing what we do without much wakefulness in the process. I myself catch myself sleep walking through my own life but taking you all with me, on the passing show, that makes it work. That wakes me up. It allows too those who might come after us to have something of a view from a different perspective than that which might be written in the history books. Now I am beginning to get onto a theme….
I am not saying this is a fact, it's something I heard in a podcast, that only 11% of those alive today are awake (I have read lower percentages than that). If that is true, it's not that many people but there is hope because we all have that within us as our true nature and truth. You are helping!
As Meher Baba said, I have not come to lay down any precepts, I have come to Awaken all. We will wake up but the issue is - will it be too late when we do? I don't know. I'm 62. I did some work this morning to figure out how many who were alive 48 years ago are not alive today - based on Voyager 1 having taken the first single frame photo of both the earth and the moon as it headed out of the solar system. The answer? 1.88 Billion - conservatively estimated. Then there are all those who were born AFTER September 18, 1977 who aren't alive today too - and the number jumps up over 2 billion. 8.2 billion of us here now...brains a-percolating, if you know what I mean. We ought to be able to come up with some pretty good stuff - even if the percentage is 10% or 1 % eeven....that's still 82 million wide-awake...let's network our rear-ends off! :-)
For what it's worth, Hal, NO one is everyone's cup of tea. So, let me cheer you on, you have so much to give through your writing. A wealth of experience and studies under your belt. And there is courage behind the mere act of moving through each day. Let us acknowledge that. Maria
Well, I am not doing it for anyone in particular anyway. Don't misread me please - here's how I go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzwzzyPguV0 - I couldn't put it much better. As the Bathrobe Guy says: Peace Love and Metta....

Good luck with it all Hal! That’s a good record! Judi
I appreciate the comment! Any little ripple is one more effect in this cyberworld we are co-creating.
Yes, I agree. Would love it if you might find the time to read one of mine too! I love sharing writing and art in this space! Judi
