Time is an illusion, they say - however, here and now we can take actions that can make a difference to the future - in fact, every action does....whether we take those actions with conscious intent or not. I've watched the history of our country go in directions that we may not have intended - such as the 1973 HMO Act which led to our current rather poor sickness management system (it cannot be called "Health Care" any longer. There is more, obviously. Time has come today, as the Chambers Brothers once stated.
I was drawn in by the image of the imp (great job!) and am so glad I came here. This is a very thoughtful post. Sometimes I don't think there will ever be a wake-up call. But the way the pendulum tends to swing, if there is, it will be powerful. The people are desperate, that's why we vote the way we do, regardless of which side. We're fueled by desperation. If we can somehow come together and channel that energy into hope, we can move mountains.
I love the idea of making a difference through our financial choices. I am also still preoccupied by the ways we got here. How can I see things so differently from my neighbors, my friends, my family? I think we have to insist on finding common ground and empathy. Even with people we disagree with. Approach with curiosity rather than fear and hatred. The bots are trolling us for a reason. Creating division for a reason. Division sells. But we are stronger together.
Thanks for the encouragement! I appreciate that. So far, economic pressure is the only thing that I have found that can really make an impact - and yet we are constrained by the choices we have already made!
