I sympathize with your words that we “are ultimately responsible for the world we perceive – and how we choose to perceive it” and that “thoughts are things”. Those ideas are dominant parts of my worldview, keeping me from making others responsible for what I see. Resignation is not on my menu. Learning and growing are. Which, as you pointed out, requires us to stay awake and aware so that we can help move the world in a positive direction.
How we can act in such a way to speed getting to the other side of this carbon combustion complex and political death rattle we are experiencing. How to lead but not get too caught up in reactive actions? This is what we must figure out. Good column!
Great questions - Don had it right. We need to wake up to our interdependence and pull the levers….every cent spent is a vote for the kind of world we are co-creating and we are all responsible. For my part, I’m working on amplifying this signal through the noise.
Good! I have been trying to do that for years as a futurist. The signal from the noise is very valid. The question is why the Signal is not taking root. It is among certain forward thinkers, but critical mass is always important. It doesn't matter when a technology in invented. It matters when 20-30% of the population starts to actively use it. Another way of saying this is what critical mass is needed for the Signal we understand to have a tipping point effect. Keep it up!
Why isn’t the signal taking root? It is….but it has to compete against so many voices. Trend lines exist that point toward a maturation of a species of primate that’s become endemic…and the activity of this troop of bipedal baboons is leaning toward self-correction. Let’s go live and talk about it here at your convenience!

Thank you so much! I will respond directly.

PS - just took out a paid founding subscription. This is one way of “voting” for a future we can believe in! :-) Action.
