The Work Continues
Onward is the motto of "Harrowings"

Whether the muse is with us or not, we write onward toward the inevitable, regardless of the weather. The work must be done. The voices of the past clamor to be heard. The memory unfolds and the future spreads out before us. Shall we see where we are going before it all comes down upon our heads?
If there is anything that is a constant, it is change. We know this and we know that the wheels of progress, once set in motion, can reveal the action of the law. What law? What is legal here in the most extreme sense of the word?
I spent a long time listening to a lecture on Ontology last night; the struggle to know what is real. I emerged from it with an understanding that reality is that which, without a swerve, obeys inexhorable law. Wish as we might for things to be other than they are, we cannot change reality. I’m digging into the convergence of the information techonology capabilities. Humanity will remain but how we will adapt to our new environment is an open question.
Last night, I tuned into a talk from South by Southwest:
It is chilling but it is also not possible to ignore the implications…unless, of course, we do ignore it, which, if my intuition is anything to go by, we will, by and large. Some of us won’t and some of us will prepare ourselves for the future which is actually already here in many ways.
For my part, I’ve taken a few minutes to prepare myself, so far as I’m able, to do an interview/conversation with Denise Parent (pronounced “Pah-rahnt”) on the Harrowings Podcast. It’s been since December 10 that we did the last one:
Growth has been steady since that time and we have about 100 more subscribers now, so we are very gradually expanding our ability to amplify our signals of love, light, and the magic of music out to the rest of the world. That’s my aim.
In service of that aim, I just had this tune played on the Morning Show of KSKQ.org out in the Rogue Valley of Oregon:
While this was released over thirty years ago, I think we can use this to sooth ourselves as we reframe “The Passing Show” into something with which we can cope.
Close your eyes and look at me
I’ll be standing by your side
In between the deep blue sea
And the sheltering sky
If we find no words to say
To the rhythm of the waves
Then we’ll both surrender there
Walking on airㅤAnd the worries of the day lie down
Under cover of the fading clouds
The secrets of the night
Come alive in your eyes
You don’t have to hurry
You don’t have to try
You don’t have a care
You’re walking on airAnd the worries of the day lie down
Under cover of the fading clouds
The secrets of the night
Come alive in your eyes
You don’t have to hurry
And you don’t have to try
‘Cause you don’t have a care
You’re walking on airSource: Musixmatch

To center oneself and move out in effective action, it’s important to start by calming our bodies on the inhalation. Exhaling, we can say “Yes!” to whatever presents itself.
So, these are few thoughts as I go onward into the teeth of the coming storm.

Thank you, my friend, and onward. With love, Maria
I disagree that we cannot change reality. We just can't change it yet. More people need to wake up.
