Clean bill of health - weight down, blood pressure spot on, and heart rate down around 59 ticks a minute. Sure, there’s the old “first degree AV Block” that I’ve had for years, but my cardiologist seems to think I’ll not need a check again for a year and a day. So it goes.
I’m listening now to David Gans’ livestream. You can too here:
The generosity of our artists should be something we all value. I do what I can to amplify the good works of people like David over the noise of cyberspace. I’m grateful for all of it.
Earlier today, I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with a huge number of people (by my standards) - special ones. They are all very dear to me, of course. I hope we can all capture that spirit of loving kindness and extend it to each other. David is now covering a beautiful number by George Harrison who has been gone for quite a number of years now. George is, from my point of view, about as close to immortal as it’s possible to be. I’m reminded of a documentary I watched some time ago on George’s life and he was, as I recall, far from perfect, but he lived out loud and put a lot of life into the years.
At noon today, I was working through some tunes from Bob Dylan’s “Time Out of Mind” - one of my absolute favorites is “Highlands” and I think I’ll wrap up this little birthday post with that:
There is naturally so much more that I would like to say, but I think I’ll just kick back and finish listening to David play “Black Peter” which I have requested in the past.
“Just want a little peace (….) and a friend or two I love at hand.” Yep - that’s about perfect!
Great post. Love the tunes. And Happy Birthday!
