Today’s aphorism from Discipline Global Mobile is:
“May we have the clarity to see our work, the courage to embrace it, and the capacity to discharge it.”
The work I am doing has to do with continuing to breathe and walk in the world. A little earlier today, I went live on Substack and filmed a bit of what I call “The Passing Show.” I do my best to observe with a degree of equanamity. I’ll never have an objective view of “truth” as everything is relative to the perspective, which, in my case, is definitely, literally limited and distorted. All of us have our perspectives but many of us probably think we know when all we really have is our own perceptions and we may well not be interpreting the sensory inputs accurately.
As I write this, I’m listening to Daniel Pinchbeck whose first book, Breaking Open the Head which is focused on the pschydelic experience. He’s now suggesting that the world that we perceive as “reality” is actually a kind of dream generated by consciousness. Materialism, he suggests, is not borne out by our current understanding. We are engaged in a kind of alchemy. He’s now referencing Rudolph Steiner who created his own movement. It’s worth a listen so here it is:
I hope that some of you will get something out of it. Here now, I am reflecting on the life I have been leading and the work at hand. I have an inordinate amount of materials left by my late father which I am working on stewarding. Publishing his creative works behind the paywall here is not yet paying the bills but we are off to a good start. We need to keep focused on that work and provide value to our employers here at the Harold B Gill Foundation, LLC. We have a long way to go.
What else to I want to convey to all of you? Well, I will say again that every cent we spend is a vote for the kind of world we are co-creating. Paid subscriptions will help me to keep on working on this creative effort here on Substack.
If you can’t manage a paid subscription, free subscribers are most welcome and I will subscribe to you in turn. Also, sharing the publication in a post or note will help a great deal.
Comments of all kinds are also most welcome! Drop a note here and let me know what is on your mind.
Thank you for bringing this piece into the world. My favourite 🙏✨️
