Reflection on Harrowing the Field of Imagination
A Harrow digs into the surface of a field, breaking up soil and aerating it in preparation for planting. The soil’s receptivity is increased - and this bit of writing is being etched into it now.
It’s Sunday, June 8, at 3:01 PM Eastern US Time as I write this - reclining in my Herman Miller knock-off mid century lounge, listening to “Awaken” by Yes from their 1977 album “Gong For The One.”
A good afternoon of repose.
I’ve been working on building personal connections here and across the board - all while also staying here - present with my wife and counting myself lucky to be here now.
Yesterday, I marched with the “Pride of America” Fife, Drum, and Bugle Corps from T and Fourteenth Streets NW in DC down to the National Archives. We had great energy and I’m honored to have been at the center of the third rank, flying a flag tucked into my “Karina Rykman” hat. We got great reactions from the crowd and I managed to play each of the tunes pretty well and contributed few wrong notes.
