Since starting this substack in earnest some few months back - in part, to launch “The Harold B Gill Foundation,” I have been putting his articles that have not been published online out behind the paywall. I’ve kindled another thread as well that is something of a pipe dream. My writing tends to be an examination of the Self otherwise. I’m up and engaging with the world a little late on this Saturday morning but reflecting on how much learning is needed. For one thing, I need to work on understanding what it is to have a Podcast and to manage it and market it.
The podcast will be about the power of music in healing and the healing of the practitioners of the art as well. This will be a part of an existing company’s offerings, namely, activepotential.com. We are hopeful that it will be popular and attract a wide-range of guests among the most popular performing artists. More to come on this.
There is so much to learn about podcasting, first and foremost, in addition to the applications that are available. I’ve signed up for some courses this month and should be taking them as time allows in the coming weeks and months. All the while, I need to dig out of the pile, as I call the heap of material that I have pulled out of my late father’s study. The postage stamp collection that we built together has been shipped off to auction in Connecticut but there is much more in terms of research that needs to be reviewed and organized.
To that end, I’ve been doing research into archiving and thinking about how to enlist assistance from others to help with the process. We have a long way to go if I’m to make a success out of this. All the while, I’m not earning the regular paychecks that were flowing in until last August. My involvement in a contract that I’d helped save one year earlier came to an end abruptly. These things happen in my field but this time, I haven’t sought to get right back into the game. As a result, I’m taking stock and attempting at 61 years of age to reinvent myself.
This is a place where I can write about that process and share with my subscribers something of the journey. I am grateful for all of you being along for the ride.
Now, I ask for your feedback and recommendations as you see fit to make them.
