I appreciate how you hold both responsibility and realism here, without outrage or collapse. That question of how we stay awake without burning out feels central, especially now. I am grateful for your voice in this space and for the way you keep pointing us back to care, attention, and being good ancestors.

Yes, what we do here and now matters! Always…

Love your heart dude.

Thanks, @Robert Blake - but what do you actually think in regard to the content here? let's dig in and let's see if we can't spark something between the two points of view. I know nothing to speak of about you. Care to weigh in?

I’ve posted a few “memoirs” on here. But I switched my account to “private” last year. Started questioning my own motivation in the face of the world turmoil. Started questioning my own integrity as a man in a time of revelation and “disclosure”….still questioning. To be honest I haven’t read much of your stuff, I don’t have a great deal of time for reading so I choose one or two posts a day from all the hundreds of creators and journalists I subscribe to. But whenever I do read something from you I sense a man who sincerely wants to leave this world better than he found it. That’s good enough for me. I want that too. I shall try to give your work more time from now on. I pray, hope and choose to believe that one fine day Peace, Plenty and Freedom shall be the fate of us all. ♥

Thanks! That was a generous reply and I put it down to practice of some principles which I've distilled out of my 63 spins around the sun. First among these is - looking back - I see that I am the culmination of historical processes - an unintended consequence, perhaps, but here I am. So, what am I to do with this mess of an inheritance! It's all mine, after all, while I'm here exchanging gasses with the atmosphere and maintaining, so well as I am able, homeostasis! It behooves me to take action...but what action? Mindful, considerate, deliberate action to attempt to be a good ancestor...I don't know how much my ancestors other than my parents took this into their reckoning, but I can't do much about the past - I can only act in the present. Hope that tracks....

It does. We can't turn back the clock or undo what's been done. We can only try to live in alignment with what our heart and soul yearns for in the now. The future is not set in stone. It's what each of us are building moment by moment, decision by decision. I have, like many of my generation, been lazy with my opportunities, indulgent with my freedom and reckless with my life. But every day is a new start and a new opportunity to do, speak and be something wiser, something more authentic and more considerate of others than yesterday. In the words of Marylin Manson, "it's a long hard road out of hell". But it's a journey worth taking, for everyone's sake.

I'm watching the course we appear to be navigating - and have been ever more closely as I get on in years. My instinct has been there from the get-go that I, personally, am responsible for the world that I am co-creating with all of the rest of you members of my species...not having reproduced in genetic terms, means that I am left with memetics....and I'm doing what I can to lay down some effective precepts for others....as in, We are collectively responsible and every cent spent is a vote for the kind of world we are co-creating and for which our progeny will either bless or curse our memories.

Oh how right you are! Those little energy tokens are the only real vote that matters. 😉 There is a dude called Krishnamurti (or there was, he is dead now) whose work has made a huge impact on me personally. I dont know if you know of him but this comment is very much in alignment with his words.

Simply beautiful. I agree with all those words Hal. We as the global we as writers and creators support humanity and spread positivity and creativity. I do recycle and reuse and create. I appreciate all support as well. It can be difficult to support humanity without support from humanity. I hear you and in the same boat.

Thanks so much - there’s a lot of stuff going on these days. I’m tuned into @ORIGIN at the moment….listening to the monologue and contributing in the chat. Onward! Good to see you getting out in the woods…onward!
