....and I'd rather not be...
I don’t know. I just know how it seems to me. It seems to me that we are a most ignorant and unconscious species. It’s a miracle just to be. We squander it on petty games, attempting to curry favor with one another. People try to manipulate one another through all kinds of charades. It’s on my last nerve, this perception is.
It is only my perception though, right? I mean, you people out there are conscious, aren't you? I mean, of more than yourselves and your immediate friends and family? You know that there is a world out there that needs us to be mindful and considerate, right?
There’s an old line about stepping on the toes of our fellows….and that they then retaliate. Well, I feel my toes have been trodden upon and it’s got me working through my feelings about that. So here’s my strategy. I realize that, of myself, I am nothing. I am simply the animal carrying the imp that I am from dawn to dusk and back again.
I assume others are similar. I wish they’d stay the hell off of my toes, but it’s probably not realistic to think they will…so I will simply let them be. My toes are pretty tough.
All of this is a kind of metaphor for what I’ve been experiencing the past several days since I have rejoined regular meetings of the fellowship of AA. We have principles that we are to practice in all our affairs, but evidence of this practice seems to me to be among the rarest things. How many of you are willing to identify as members of the fellowship. My anonymity is mine to break as I see fit, by the way….so if any of you have your knickers in a twist about that, please feel free to untwist them.
AA.org has a program that really works to relieve a progressive and fatal condition and if more people were aware of what the principles of that fellowship are, and practiced them, the whole world would be transformed for the better. That’s my take.

Oh I wanted to add that I think I shouldn't hold other people at fault. I should forgive all. They are operating on outdated software based a survival mindset, subliminal messaging, our education system, our social norms, our laws which we all thought were separate and good became a web. Most of the things that occur I believe occur for two reasons greed, and fear of the unknown. A society taught to learn, but not taught to question.
